Our aim
The aextra company was founded in 1988 with the aim of creating professional prepress software. Extensions for existing desktop publishing systems were focused on here. Aextra-software has also been working in the area of Web site design and programming since the year 2000. Since the end of 2001, we have specialized in the area of plug-in programming for Adobe InDesign®. Our InDesign language products, InDihyph hyphenation, and InDitect spell checking originated in cooperation with Dieckmann corporate consulting. Thus you can draw on 40 years of experience in this area as well.
Everything began with the Calamus desktop publishing system. We developed six modules for this system alone, among them the legendary LineArt and vectorizer Curve & Line.
We developed the DrawTools plug-in collection for Adobe Illustrator among other things for the Extensis Company. Additional developments were incorporated into the "VektorTools" product. After that, we were involved with four modules in the legendary QX Tools 4.0.
We worked for the Viva company in Koblenz for over two years. The ScanCorrector product was developed completely by us. Furthermore, we participated in the development and Windows porting of the QuarkXpressReader library and the Viva IP system.
We developed the products InTools, InTips, and the InEffects front end for a lowly apprentice production, inc. The next plug-ins from our pen are InTools 2 and additional plug-ins for Adobe InDesign.
